This Garlic Tofu ‘Chicken’ Bowl is insanely delicious, especially paired with a homemade tzatziki sauce! Definitely give this recipe a try!

 Garlic Tofu ‘Chicken’:
  • 250g firm organic tofu, pressed to remove water (you could also use mock meat instead)

  • 1/4 cup plain coconut yogurt

  • 6 garlic cloves, minced

  • 3 tbsp olive oil

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Juice from 1 1/2 lemons (3-4 tbsp)

  • 1 tsp oregano


  • 1/2 cup plain coconut yogurt
  • 1 small cucumber, grated and water squeezed out
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 3 tbsp dill, finely chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Juice from 1 lemon


  • 2 large white potatoes
  • Garlic salt
  • Parsley flakes
  1. Preheat the oven to 250 degrees celsius. Slice the potatoes and place on a baking tray. Sprinkle the seasoning to your desired amount and bake for 25 minutes or until golden.

  2. To prepare the tofu chicken, combine the coconut yogurt, garlic, olive oil, lemon, oregano, salt and pepper in a bowl. Break the tofu into small bite size pieces and add to the bowl. Toss to coat and set aside for 30 minutes, tossing occasionally.

  3. In the meantime prepare the tzatziki by mixing the ingredients in a bowl, and set in the fridge.

  4. Heat a fry pan to medium-high heat and add in the tofu and any marinade that’s in the bowl (add more oil to the pan if needed). Cook until the tofu is golden on each side, roughly 3-4 minutes.

  5. To serve, add lettuce, tomato, red onion, cucumber, potatoes, tofu chicken and tzatziki to a bowl and enjoy!
